We're pleased to announce that The Nourish Collective will be headed back to Africa in less than a month. Melissa will be going to Madagascar with Operation Smile on September 16 and was extended an AMAZING invitation to travel beforehand to Morocco with Lela Barker from
Bella Luccè
and
From Morocco with Love
. Such a great opportunity and she scooped it right up. She'll be leaving September 10!
On the trip to Morocco Melissa will primarly be learning-on-the-fly as she participates in From Morocco with Love's first aid distribution trip! This is an exciting time for From Morocco with Love and we are superstoked to be part of the team!
But a few of The Nourish Collective's goal for this trip are . . .
1. To provide our BRAND SPANKING NEW soapmaking manual to Lela's contacts in-country!
2. To have some frank discussions regarding the possibility of The Nourish Collective teaching soapmaking to those who would like to learn the craft and start a small soapmaking business.
3. To do a small-scale community assessment to determine the feasibility of a soapmaking business and to learn more about the community's needs and how The Nourish Collective might be able to provide education in the future.
We'll try to keep you posted as things shape up, and Melissa's sure to try to keep you posted via Twitter while she's across the sea. So long as she has Internet acess that girl will Twitter. :)
Peace,
Angela
